Tell Them We Are Rising: The Story of HBCUs

Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) are some of the finest institutions of learning in the nation. Tell Them We Are Rising: The Story of HBCUs, a documentary directed by Stanley Nelson, showcases the history of HBCUs from their beginnings to the present day. The African Diaspora International Film Festival will be hosting a screening of this film at Columbia Teachers College. Come and learn how these cherished schools have helped African-Americans fulfill their vast potential as scholars and citizens! The screening will be followed by a Q and A session with the director.
