GrowNYC has a new interactive website that shows New Yorkers what things we've been throwing out that we can (and should) be recycling instead! At the top of that list is PAPER! Over 775.220 TONS of recycleable paper is thrown into the trash each year.
"Nearly a quarter of NYC's waste is recyclable paper! Be sure to recycle all clean paper [1]. Reduce your carbon footprint further by taking your name off of mass mailing lists with the Direct Mail Marketing Association [2], reducing catalog waste with Catalog Choice [3], opting out of offers for credit cards and insurance through the Consumer Credit Reporting Industry [4] and stopping unwanted telephone books [5]."
Do your part, Harlem!
