The Department of Medicine at St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals (SLR) announces the creation of a new multispecialty group – UMPA at Madison Avenue – which is located in East Harlem. The new site, formed earlier this spring, is part of University Medical Practice Associates (UMPA), the department’s outpatient clinical practice.
Located at 1827 Madison Avenue and 119th Street, the new medical office was created by adding a skilled team of SLR healthcare providers to Dr. Raji Ayinla’s primary care and pulmonology practice. The site now includes more primary care internal medicine physicians as well as specialists in cardiology, diabetes management, gastroenterology, nephrology, pulmonary medicine and women’s health.
“Dr. Ayinla’s practice has been a valuable and trusted site for patients in the Harlem area for several years,” said Nadine Blair, UMPA practice site administrator. “The addition of these new providers will offer patients a broad range of coordinated, high-quality care from one local office.”
Adds Dr. Ayinla, “SLR has a long tradition of serving the Harlem community. I’m proud to have a practice that is affiliated with them.”
A Patient-Friendly OfficeBesides adding new doctors and nurse practitioners, UMPA at Madison Avenue has renovated its office and expanded its hours to include evenings and Saturdays. And many of the professionals and support staff speak Spanish.
Besides Dr. Ayinla, the new healthcare team includes Danielle Jardine, MD (primary care) and Jenny Gerner, MD (primary care) ; Robert Kornberg, MD (cardiology); Ella Ares, DNP (diabetes management); Ivonne Ramirez, MD (gastroenterology); Anip Bansal, MD (nephrology); Veronica Palmero, MD (pulmonary medicine); and Diana Vargas, WHNP (women’s health).
The office phone number is 212-722-1441 and the address is 1827 Madison Avenue (at 119th Street), New York, NY 10035. For more information on UMPA at Madison Avenue, please contact the office.
