  • Silvia Amesty, MD, MPH, MSEd

    Silvia Amesty, MD, MPH, MSEd is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine (at the Center for Family and Community Medicine) and Population and Family Health at Columbia University. She is also on the clinical staff of the Young Men’s Clinic in Harlem. She earned her MD from Temple University , her MSEd from the University of Pennsylvania, and her MPH from Columbia University. A board certified Family Medicine physician, she received her training at Beth Israel Medical Center/The Institute for Urban Family Health in New York City. Dr. Amesty has a special interest in health disparities as a human rights issue, and has received training in health and human rights at the Harvard School of Public Health/Francois Xavier Bagnoud Center for Health and Human Rights. A Fulbright Lecture-Research Award and NIH/NIDA diversity supplement are amongst the many awards and fellowships she has received over her career.
