  • Healthy Tip of The Week (HTW)- June 24 - July 1

    GHHEditor June 21st

We’re in the heart of summer, and it’s hot!

The weather is nice and sunny, but the heat can be dangerous. Here’re some tips on keeping yourself safe so you can enjoy the season to the fullest.

    • Don’t push yourself. Doing a lot of physically demanding work when it’s hot out is dangerous. The National Weather Service (NWS) recommends putting work off until it’s cooler, if possible.
    • Stay hydrated
    • Stay up to date! Pay attention to what’s happening—keep up to date on the latest news about the heat. Use reliable sources like the NWS CLICK HERE.
    • Be on the lookout for symptoms. Early signs of heat-related illness are feeling weak, tired, nauseous, dizzy, or getting a headache.
    • Don’t take risks. If you start feeling that the heat is affecting you or you see someone who might be feeling the effects of a heat-related illness, get help.

The summer weather can be wonderful, but getting sick isn’t. Keep these tips in mind so you can relax and enjoy the weather!
