HTW # 108: Can’t Sleep? Insomnia is not being able to fall or stay asleep, including waking up several hours early and not being able to go back to sleep. Lack of sleep is very common in the United States and it can affect your day-to-day life and responsibilities. According to The Institute of Medicine, up to 70 million Americans suffer from insomnia. One tip to avoid restless nights is to use your bed for sleep and sex only. Don’t watch TV, work, eat, or do any other activities in bed because this will make it harder for your brain to relax when it’s time to turn the lights off and go to sleep.
