Come out a free 8-hour initial class on the EPA's Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) rule. This class is offered by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (LPPP).
The 1-day training class provides information on how to work safely in areas with lead paint and is taught by a knowledgeable, certified trainer. In addition to the RRP curriculum, the requirements for lead-safe work practices under NYC's Local Law 1 are taught in the class. People who successfully complete this class will be eligible to become an EPA-certified Renovator.
We are also focusing on recruiting participants from high-risk areas but people from all areas are welcomed to participate.
