Be careful when ordering food for the July 4th holiday
United Food and Commercial Workers Unioin Local (UFCW) 1500, New York State's largest grocery store workers' union, is telling shoppers to be careful when placing food orders for the Fourth of July weekend. This is because there is a possible strike that might happen due to expiring workers' contracts. This strike would affect over 150 supermarkets.
Some stores that are currently involved in negotiations include Stop and Shop, King Kullen Markets, and Pathmark. It might be best to place orders at other supermarkets because workers at those stores might go on strike during the holiday weekend.
