  • How to Stay Healthy and Protect Yourself from the Flu

    Flu has been in the news a lot lately. Here's what you can do to stay healthy and protect yourself:

    1. When you sneeze, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue and then throw the tissue out right away. If you don't have a tissue, sneezing into your elbow is better than sneezing into your hands, because it will be harder to spread germs that way.

    2. Wash your hands often with soap and water. (If you don't have soap and water, alcohol-based hand cleaners also work!)

    3. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth - that is how germs are spread.

    4. The flu is spread mostly from person-to-person by an infected person coughing and sneezing. If anyone you know is sick try to avoid close contact with them.

    5. Finally, if you do get sick and are able to stay home from work - you should. This prevents you from passing the flu onto others and getting sicker when your system is weak.
