Currently, about 40 million Americans have Medicare insurance. Coverage is provided to those 65 or older and for many people with serious disability.
Some doctors, often specialists, are no longer accepting Medicare. Many state their reasoning is because of the large amount of paperwork required which many Doctors view as too much of a hassle and because Medicare has much lower reimbursement rates than other health insurance plans.
