Harlem RBI Celebrates Robinson Day
There are a couple of interesting stories that appeared today on the Major League Baseball site (mlb.com). The first had to do with an event held in Harlem related to the Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) Program. RBI is a youth outreach program "designed to increase participation and interest in baseball/softball, encourage academic achievement, teach the value of teamwork and promote greater inclusion of minorities in the game."
Interestingly, the event was held on the annual Jackie Robinson day. This day marks the anniversary that Robinson broke major league baseball's color barrier and serves to celebrate his remarkable legacy across all of sports and beyond.
