  • Designated Stroke Centers in NYC

    If you think you're having a stroke, there are certain designated stroke centers in New York City that you should ask to go to.  These hospitals and centers have special education and training around stroke which means you'll get a higher quality of care.

    These centers include:

    * Bellevue Hospital

    * Beth Israel MC, Petrie Division
    * Harlem Hospital Ctr
    * Lenox Hill Hospital
    * Metropolitan Hospital Center
    * Mount Sinai Hospital
    * New York Downtown Hospital
    * New York Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia Medical Center
    * New York Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medical Ctr
    * North General Hospital
    * NYU Medical Center
    * St. Lukes Roosevelt-Roosevelt Division
    * St. Lukes Roosevelt-St. Lukes Division
    * St. Vincent's Midtown Hospital
    * SVCMC - St. Vincent's Manhattan
     

    (The hospitals in bold are the ones located closest to Harlem.)
