Making and sticking with your New Year's resolution.
Did you make a resolution to be healthier in the New Year?
Having trouble staying on track? It's never too late to make a change!
Most resolutions fail because people set unrealistic goals and don't have a plan in place to make the change.
It's easy to get back on track - here are a few tips to help you make a change for the better.
- Set small, realistic goals and take them one at time. Slow and steady wins the race.
- Be specific. Instead of making a goal to "eat healthier." For instance, set a goal to eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables each day or exercise for 30 minutes each day. Specific goals will help you measure your progress.

- Find a buddy. Get a friend or family member to join you in your mission to improve your health. Having someone else to share your concerns and challenges with will help you stay motivated.
- Reward yourself! Celebrate your successes along the way.
- And most importantly stay positive, and if you get off track try again! Think about what prevented you from achieving the goal and revaluate your plan. Remember why you decided to make a change, and focus on the benefits you'll get when you reach the goal.
Good luck!

Flag as inappropriateMy New Year's resolution is to take a multi-vitamin every day with my breakfast. I know I don't get as many nutrients as I need, so I'm hoping this helps keep me healthy!
I'm going to take it one day at a time and see how it goes. If taking a vitamin EVERY morning doesn't work out, maybe every OTHER morning will be better!

Flag as inappropriateHey Laura, taking a multi-vitamin and calcium supplement was my resolution last year! I did okay, but what really ended up helping me was a weekly pill box. I filled it up at the beginning of the week and took the pills on the designated day. I was much better at taking them rather than having to deal with the bulky bottles every day. It also helped when I went out of town. I started using one in September and I've been much better about taking the vitamins! Good luck!
