Don't Give Up! Say Bye-Bye to Belly Fat

We've all been inundated with media reports about the dangers of overweight, the pluses and minuses of various new diets, and flashing internet ads about miraculous weight loss plans and pills. Gaining weight around our middles is thought to be particularly dangerous to our health.
 
As a result, a lot of people are confused, discouraged, and are just about ready to give up.  I advise people on the verge to try low glycemic eating. As someone with a degree in public health, a certificate in personal training, and the loser of 30 pounds, low-glycemic eating is the best way I've found to reduce excess body fat in a healthy way. It's something you can follow the rest of your life. And, more than any other plan it helps you break the cycle of craving, overeating, craving more, overeating more. (I've written about low glycemic eating earlier in this blog.)
 
So, if you've been trying to lose weight through exercise, or “cutting back” on food, but haven't gotten the results you're aiming for, don't give up! By all means buy one of the books on low-glycemic eating (let me know if you's d like some recommendations) and start changing your life and your shape.
 
But, honestly, not everyone can do it on their own. Many studies show that people do much beter when they have support and accountability--either from a nutrionist or personal trainer, or from a group.
