Come hear one of the nation's leading advocates for green jobs and environmental equity outline the roadmap to a sustainable future for every community.

Welcome to the symposium site for "Our World 2024: Preparing a New Generation for a Sustainable Future," sponsored by the New York Life Endowment for Emerging African-American Issues and organized by the Colin Powell Center for Policy Studies at the City College of New York. The New York Life Endowment supports the examination of a wide range of issues-including the transition to a new, green economy-that affect African-American and other minority communities.

The Goal
Our World 2024 is designed to open an ongoing conversation about the increasing impact of education for sustainability and the role of workforce training in the transformation to a "green" economy and a more sustainable future.

The Opportunity
Our World 2024 provides a venue for educators, professionals, and other stakeholders to network and share insights and best practices with regard to education for sustainability. Presentation and discussions will highlight model programs and practices in K-12, adult-education, and higher ed settings. Participants will discuss ongoing challenges and set the stage for synergistic action.

The format
The evening has been arranged to foster a shared exchange of information. In addition to highlights including keynote speaker Jerome Ringo and a panel discussion with noted leaders in the field, Our World 2024 offers roundtable conversations through which attendees can engage in the key themes of the evening.

The Follow-up
A series of post-conference gathering on each of the evening's five roundtable discussion themes will provide interested participants with further opportunities to collaborate across sectors and promote change.
