I recently learned about the "Power of One" card from Stephanie Pope Caffey and I was immediately interested. It's a great way to keep money spent at local Harlem businesses in the Harlem community. Read more below!

What is it? The Power of One is an economic action plan created by independent Harlem business owners who have come together to promote and support each other and their community.

How does it work? You can buy a Power of One card online (www.the-powerofone.com) or at affiliate partners for only $1. Once you have the rewards card, you can get discounts, perks, and VIP access at Harlem retailers and organizations.

Where can you use your Power of One card? Several locations! Including:

• Hue-Man Bookstore

• Katrina Village
• Apollo Theater
• Mobay

• Harlem Lanes
• and much more!!!

What does Power of One do with money used to buy cards? The Power of One donates to charities throughout Harlem that enrich the community. Some examples include: Opus 118 Harlem School of Music, the Melvin Van Peebles Foundation, the Theatre of the Oppressed, Cool Culture, Amsterdam News, and the New York City Mission Society.
