Feed Harlem

Key words: Food, Eating Healthy.

After reading the supermarket shortage article, I finally saw in writing the dire needs of food for my fellow central Harlem Residents. Since moving here in 05 I have been a religious Fairway Shopper. I cook my own food everyday and enjoy home cooked food over any mass produced food in restaurants. I have dismissed C’towns and Pathmarks for many reasons; I will list 3 that will suffice-

1 there should not be an uninviting stench of roach spray or rat pesticides as you enter a food store!

2, if I have to struggle to find bread WITHOUT A PAGE LONG RAP SHEET OF CHEMICALS (4 ingredients grains, salt, yeast, water maybe oil is all it takes) I loose my patience.

3 if we are constantly reminded of the health risks involved in eating packaged shelf life foods with Hydrogenated oils why are you only offering this in your store? - Don’t insult my intelligence.

For those raised on this junk who the grocers say want to buy this-same rational as a crack dealer unfortunately healthy foods are significantly pricier than what's sold at Pathmark. Finally The color of the MEAT! GRASSFEED BEEF should be available to all- it has a distinct red color and not the murky brown/red discoloration as many "supermarkets" sell. I have converted a few if my place was bigger I would invite the unhealthy harlemites of my block....to a home cooked meal-simple with grains, olive oil, garlic  fresh basil, homemade bread just delicious for mind and body and they wouldn't return to putting toxins in their body's anymore....

Always Love Harlem
