CFL Lightbulbs can now be Recycled in Harlem and Washington Heights!

Residents of Harlem and Washington Heights can now recycle their used CFL lightbulbs (the energy efficient ones!) at the following places:

East Harlem:

Hope Community

174 E. 104th Street, (between 3rd and Lexington)

Monday-Friday 9am-5pm 

Washington Heights:

Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation

76 Wadsworth (between 176th and 177th Streets)

Monday-Friday 9am-5pm

Why Recycle CFL lightbulbs? These bulbs have mercury in them - which is a toxic metal. By recycling them you avoid letting more mercury into the air, which makes the environment a lot healthier for you and your family!
