Get cash for recycling old electronics??
I have been getting e-mails from the Lazy Environmentalist, Josh Dorfman, giving me ideas on ways to "go green" without having to do too much. One of the e-mails that he sent me had to do with earning cash for recycling old electronics and I thought it was a cool thing to share. Here are his top three suggestions for websites that will PAY YOU for recycling your old electronics.
Here are his top 3 recommendations for recycling companies that will pay for your used electronics.
One Note: All of these companies provide free shipping to their facilities. The best is Gazelle.com which sends you a postage paid box in which to ship your items. Second best is Greenphone.com which provides you with a prepaid shipping label. Third best is Buymytronics.com which reimburses you for your shipping expenses, $5 for the first item and $2 for additional items in the same package.
Gazelle.com - Send Gazelle your used cell phones, digital cameras, MP3 players, laptops, GPS units, camcorders, gaming consoles, iPhones and more, and the company will you pay you for them. Where possible Gazelle refurbishes them and makes them available to its partners for resale. It's possible to get great deals on refurbished at items at major retailers like Target thanks to Gazelle.
Buymytronics.com - Buymytronics.com is on a mission to recycle used, new, and broken electronics. To make it worthwhile, the company pays you for them within 48 hours of receiving them. Send founder Brett Mosley and his team your old cell phones, cameras, game consoles, camcorders, and iPods, and they'll send you cash.
Greenphone.com - You don't have to sell your soul to prevent global warming, but you can certainly "sell your cell." Visit Greenphone.com to find out how much your used cell phone is worth and then print the free postage label and mail your phone to the company. Once Greenphone.com receives and verifies its condition, the company will cut you a check.
And, if you want more ideas on how to go green without trying too much or to sign up for his newsletter, go to The Lazy Environmentalist's website.

Flag as inappropriateIt does, but it depends on how old (and worn) your electronics are.
I'm pretty sure some of these places will take your electronics anyway (for free) if you're looking for a place to recycle them, even if they're too old or worn to get paid for.

Flag as inappropriateRecycling materials is another best way to earn cash. When a sudden expense comes along, like a flat tire or being foolish enough to bet on Detroit, it drains your wallet and your mental reserves, and some cash today might do the trick to turn things around. Of course, cash today doesn't mean you can just have someone print money for you. (Well, unless you work for a Wall Street firm and you have buddies at the Federal Reserve. Then it happens!)

Flag as inappropriateRecycling is something more and more people are getting involved in. There is a lot of news today on the television and online about how our environment is suffering and how we need to take better care of it. We all have electronics that we want to replace so why not help the environment and get cash for recycling old electronics?
Today your electronic equipment is outdated so quickly because new stuff comes out all the time and we all want the latest and the greatest electronics. For example, the average person gets a new cell phone at least every two years if not sooner, and computers do not last too much longer before they are replaced.

Flag as inappropriateWhen it comes to old mobile phones what's needed is a a green, charitable and cost-free solution to disposing of them. And now thanks to awareness around mobile phone recycling that is exactly what has evolved.
If you are still not aware of how to recycle mobile phones then its time that you learn and dispose off your cell phone by recycling them. There many companies that will take back your cell phone and recycle them for you. Lets not create further electronic waste.
