Making some changes before I get diabetes
I recently learned that just because you are at risk for diabetes (have pre-diabetes), doesn't mean you are going to get diabetes. You can make some changes to help prevent it!
I always thought that I would be doomed to get diabetes like my parents did, but with a little more exercise everyday (even walking counts!) and cutting sodas and other sugary drinks like Snapple or Gatorade out of my diet, and losing a small amount of weight I can prevent myself from getting diabetes!
I never knew how bad for you sugary drinks are- I was never much of a soda drinker, but thought Snapple was fine- but turns out that has a lot of sugar in it too!
Hopefully when I start increasing the amount of walking I do, I'll also be able to lose some weight. I think this is something I can prevent - wish me luck!

Sugar does hide in drinks. I definitely never paid attention until I saw a nutritionist about some digestive issues I was having. She pointed out the sugar content and the servings in these supposedly healthy drinks and juices. Talk about a wake up call, huh?
