Bike Training
I'm a couple weeks into my training and so far, so good. One day I did about 12 miles and another day I did 14, which is exciting! It sounds like a lot, but on a bike it goes by very fast. And, I've been training with a friend who is new to biking so we are definitely taking the slow and steady attitude.
Now, that the weather is warmer, I'm looking forward to being outside more and bike riding is a great excuse to get out there! This afternoon I think I'm going to try and ride all the way to Battery Park on the Hudson River Greenway (see picture). If anyone likes bicycling and lives on the West Side, I definitely recommend the Greenway! It's so nice to ride on a pathway without cars and buses zooming by.
I'm a little concerned that my friend and I won't get up to 40 miles before the Bike Tour. Part of this is because I'm not sure where we should go for longer rides. We both live in Washington Heights and haven't figured out getting to other places with our bikes. Does anyone have any recommendations on where we should ride???

If you know where you want to go - places you'd like to explore in the city - it tells you the safest way to get there by bike. Let us know if that is any help to you!
