Pilates....hmmmm...what is that...well....wanna hear about it..here I go. It is in its most classical form:  Concentration, Precision, Flow, Breath and Centering. Originaly called "Contrology," and founded by a German boxer, physical education teacher, diver, skier and gymnast, Pilates became a household name once he introduced it to New York.

I was thrilled to hear that the NYC Health Department District Public Health Offices are distributing Health Bucks worth $2 each, which people can use to buy food at Farmers markets. Now, we need the other half of the equation to be either promoted or subsidized too.

April 29, 2024—On an early Friday morning High Bridge Park trails were desolate except for a pair of older women, Yisena and Mary. The two come to the Park every morning to stay active. Yisena speaks for the two, “We walk the aqueduct trails every morning because it is important to exercise at our age.”

Today marked my fourth day of getting back on track to a healthier lifestyle (I took yesterday off).  I ran/walked 3.2 miles today (I probably ran about 1.5 total - not straight; and walked another 1.7 miles).  I've been using the website www.gmap-pedometer.com
